Day 154: Spirit Animal

Some years ago I was asked what my spirit animal was. I paused thoughtfully and the answer just came to me, definitely otter. I found this today and it just solidified how much I love and identify with this animal.

He has to play basketball to help his arthritis. I mean, come on. I challenge you to show me something cuter.

Day 153: Book Club Part Two

Today we finally had a book club meeting to discuss books! We had a small scheduling issue so we ended up discussing two books today, The Night Circus and Tell the Wolves I’m Home.

Most of the group liked and had criticism for both books. Personally I was drawn in much more by Wolves. Without giving too much away, I loved the major relationship that developed throughout the book as well as the perspective of the young narrator. The best thing about it though was the discussion. Each person’s point of view brought out something new for me-obviously the point of having a book club. It’s working!

Because of more scheduling issues, we are skipping March and discussing two more in April-Round House and The Swerve. I’ve found my reading for our European getaway!

Day 152: Validation

The hubs and I visited his parents in the suburbs of Chicago today. After discussing the “go whenever and wherever you want” attitude towards traffic in India, we watched a few YouTube videos of it (that I highly recommend). Then they wanted to share something else with us, a short film called Validation. The general message is closely related to the efforts of this blog. Yet I also had a giggle about it as someone who used to validate parking for people at a theater. This is for all my old coworkers.

Day 151: Foot Rub

I worked from home today (and made huge headway on a project-yippee) and for some reason, my feet have been absolutely freezing all day. I finally coaxed the hubs (or maybe I just complained about it enough) to give me a foot massage. It’s become almost cliche, the husband rubbing the wife’s feet-though I think that mainly applies to pregnant women-but I’ve always found it weird. Feet are kind of gross. And ugly. Why would you want the man who is supposed to think you are cute to rub your gross and ugly feet? But after this, I’m hooked. It was totally relaxing. And it warmed my feet right up. Fun!

Day 150: Overgram

Its as simple as adding text to pictures, yet it is so fun! I found this app because I follow tashasgram on Instagram. (Definitely a must see. Lady dog tells it like it is and asks the real questions). My equation for humor, existing pictures from my phone + 90’s music references.
