Day 299: John’s Place and Volo

My friend Natalie came to town! She, Jana and I had dinner at John’s Place in Roscoe Village before meeting up with a few people–including some new friends–on the adorable patio at Volo for drinks. Catching up with people is one of my favorite things!

Day 296: Wanderjahr

This guy just quit his job to travel the world! He’s writing a blog about his travels and the book he buys in each city, so that he will have library to remember his trip when he returns. I think that is just so cool. As a person who is often a sucker for the little tchotchkes you can buy on vacation, I am so jazzed about this idea. It is such an inventive and fun way to commemorate a trip. Really fun and really cool. Check out Wanderjahr.

Day 293: Airstream Two

As Team Prius left Michigan after a weekend full of adventures, love and dancing, we made one last stop at Meijer for snacks and a bathroom break. In the parking lot was the only other Airstream I had seen since Emily and Ian bought theirs. Now I’m seeing them every where! A good omen indeed for adventures to come.

Day 292: The Renewals

What can I say about the renewals? Our friends got married five years ago, when neither of us knew them, on a beach in Michigan. They’ve taken a lot of adventures since then, including a few months in Asia, a move to Chicago, a bike trip down the California coast and, most recently, starting their own business and purchasing land in northern Michigan. It was on this beautiful land that we celebrated their five years of marriage with tons of people who love them. The hubs and I love having Emily and Ian in our lives and can’t wait to see what this next adventure has in store for them! Much love.

If that doesn’t look and sound fun enough, Emily also organized a northern Michigan Instagram scavenger hunt called the M22 Olympics. So fun. Like whoa.

Day 290: Airstream, 2:00am

It’s 2:19 am in Michigan and I’m in a sleeping bag in an airstream. How did I get here? I wasn’t supposed to be in Michigan until tomorrow (later today). An impromptu night drive instead of an early morning one seemed more appealing. So frantic packing and tying up loose ends followed by 6 hours of driving (including a few stops) in a Prius with four humans and a lot of bags and we are here, ready for tomorrow’s adventures.
